Providence Health & Services RN - Transplant Coordinator in Portland, Oregon


Providence is calling a Registered Nurse Coordinator - Ventricular Assist Device/Transplant (0.8 FTE, Days) to Providence Oregon Clinic Building in Portland, OR.

In this position, you will:

  • Provide coordination and case management for ventricular assist devices (VAD) and cardiac transplant patients in collaboration with the program medical director and referring physicians to promote optimal patient outcomes.

  • Be responsible for clinical and technical support for ventricular assist devices or cardiac transplant patients regarding evaluation, implant management, post follow-up and clinical training.

  • Effectively use care conferencing and multidisciplinary transplant/VAD committee for patient evaluations and clinical reviews.

  • Facilitate patient care within an outpatient clinic and shares 24 hour call.

  • Coordinate patient care through medical procedures, ongoing education, inpatient and outpatient care delivery and follow-up.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Current license to practice nursing in State of Oregon

  • Advanced Practitioner (NP) or Registered Nurse (RN) with VAD coordinator experience

  • If NP, current prescriptive privileges with State of Oregon, including Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certificate

  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (ACLS/CPR) certification

  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 3 years of clinical experience with VAD patient care
